Who may adopt
Adults with full legal capacity. The law sets limits on health, criminal record and deprivation of parental rights.
The procedure
1) File the application and the documents with the civil court where the child lives. 2) The guardianship and trusteeship body inspects the living conditions. 3) The body gives the court its opinion. 4) The court hears the case and gives a decision.
The child's consent
A child who has reached ten years must consent.
Secrecy
The law protects the secrecy of adoption. A person who discloses it carries liability.
