The term in law
Under article 29 of the Code on Administrative Responsibility, administrative arrest (the Code calls it administrative detention) lasts from three to fifteen days. Under a state of emergency, for offences against public order — up to thirty days.
Who orders it
The district (city) criminal court orders administrative arrest. Under a state of emergency, the military commandant or the head of the internal affairs body can also order it. In normal conditions, a police officer cannot order arrest.

- Appeal against the decision.
Appeal
You file the appeal against the court decision within ten days from the day the decision was read out, or from the day you received a copy of it. Do not miss this deadline.
